Overview of The LIVACTI Retractable Safety Gate Recall

The LIVACTI Retractable Safety Gates that were recalled have a model number of LT-BG01-3. These mesh gates are sold in white, gray, and black. They stand about 34 inches tall and can stretch up to 140 inches wide (2)

Though designed to keep kids safe, they violate federal safety standards for expandable gates and enclosures. The space between the gate and the floor is big enough for a child’s torso to slip through, putting them at risk of getting trapped, which can lead to serious injury or even death.

The mandatory safety standard for gates and enclosures, codified under 16 CFR Part 1239, states that openings in safety gates must be small enough so that a child’s head or body cannot fit through and get stuck (1).

The gates were sold online on Amazon by sellers Qeyan and Yanyanny between December 2024 and April 2025 for $55 to $75. About 1,400 units of this product were affected by this recall.

You’ll find the “Retractable Safety Gate” and its model number printed on the side post, as well as “LIVACTI” on the packaging. They were imported by Shenzhen Yiqiyuan Technology Co., Shenzhen Yanyan Network Co., and Lichang E-Commerce Inc. of California. If you have this gate, stop using it immediately. A full refund is being offered.
