MAFS’ Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli Expecting Baby Number Two “Knocked Up n’ Knocked Out”

Reality TV sweethearts Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli, who captured hearts on Married At First Sight Australia, have announced they’re expecting their second child.

The couple shared the heartwarming news on Instagram, posting a sweet video of their two-year-old son, Lucius, affectionately kissing Martha’s growing belly.

“Knocked up n’ knocked out. Will be back bigger (🤰🏻) and better soon… fingers crossed!” They captioned the post, which has since drawn thousands of reactions from fans and fellow reality stars.

Martha also uploaded a carousel of candid photos capturing her second pregnancy journey, from ginger bear snacks and fruit juices to cozy family moments and bath time with “Looch,” as they affectionately call their son.

Fans of the couple will remember Martha’s challenging first pregnancy in 2022, when she was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe condition marked by extreme nausea and vomiting. At the time, Martha revealed she was bedridden for weeks and even lost 10 kilograms before doctors found a treatment that eased her symptoms.

Despite the rough journey, the couple welcomed their son Lucius Brunelli on February 27, 2023. “He’s here, he’s perfect,” Martha shared on Instagram alongside a precious newborn photo. Michael chimed in to clarify the pronunciation of their son’s name: “LOO-SHUS, if you’re wondering 😅💙.”

Since becoming parents, Martha and Michael have often shared glimpses into family life, from birthday celebrations to sun-soaked trips around Australia and abroad.

Earlier in September 2025, Michael marked the couple’s seventh anniversary, reminiscing with a social media post that read, “Seven of the best years,” alongside a carousel capturing milestones from their reality TV beginnings to their growing family.

The pair first met on Married At First Sight in 2019, where sparks flew immediately at their televised wedding in Melbourne. Michael later described the moment as “striking gold.” Their relationship flourished beyond the show, leading to an engagement in December 2021, when Martha affectionately captioned their announcement post “Mrs B.”
