Portable Hook-On Chairs Recalled Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall Hazard. The recall occurred on June 5, 2025. Here are the details of the recall and the steps you should take if you own this product.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for portable hook-on chairs sold exclusively on Amazon.com by Ravmix, citing a serious violation of the federal safety standard for portable hook-on chairs. These chairs pose a fall hazard that could lead to serious injury or even death for babies and toddlers (1).

This recall, while concerning, emphasizes the importance of adhering to child safety standards. Federal regulations, such as those enforced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), are in place to protect your children from preventable hazards.

Products like portable hook-on chairs are required to undergo standard testing to ensure they can safely support your child's weight and remain securely fastened during use.

Parents and caregivers rely on these products daily, and any deviation from safety requirements can put the lives of babies at risk. Ensuring that your baby’s product is certified and meets CPSC standards is important for preventing injuries.

Key Facts

This recall involves portable hook-on chairs designed for seating young children at a table.

If you purchased the recalled Ravmix portable hook-on chair, stop using it immediately due to the serious fall hazard.

Overview Of The Portable Hook‑On Chair Recall

This recall involves portable hook-on chairs designed for seating young children at a table. The affected chairs feature a black metal frame covered with black or gray polyester and cotton fabric, along with a white plastic tray used for feeding. Two metal arms are used to clamp the chair onto a dining table, suspending the child above the ground. The product is identified in the owner's manual as “Children’s Table Chair” with Model Number S006 (1)

.

The recall was officially announced on June 5, 2025, following a safety investigation by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The chairs were sold exclusively on Amazon.com between September 2024 and March 2025, retailing for approximately $40 to $60. An estimated 1,000 units are affected by this recall.

The crotch restraint can be removed without the use of tools, creating a wide opening through which a child can slip and fall. This design violates the federal safety standard for portable hook-on chairs, which requires fixed restraint systems to prevent such accidents. Although no injuries or incidents have been reported to date, the risk of serious injury or death is significant enough to warrant an immediate recall.

You are advised to discontinue use of the chair immediately and contact Ravmix for a full refund if you have this item.

The federal safety standard for portable hook-on chairs is 16 C.F.R. Part 1233, which incorporates the ASTM F1235 performance requirements (3). One key rule is that the crotch restraint must be permanently attached and require tools for removal, to prevent infants from falling through (2).

The standard also includes safety tests such as the chair drop test, Static load test, Seat and seat back disengagement test for structural strength, secure attachment to tables, and proper labeling. These rules are enforced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to reduce the risk of injury or death.

Steps to Take if You Own the Portable Hook‑On Chair

If you have the recalled Ravmix portable hook-on chair in your possession, stop using it immediately.
