The Peg Perego Tatamia Chairs were recalled on June 26, 2025, due to the Risk of Suffocation and Safety Violations. If you own this product, here are the key details of the recall and the steps to take to ensure your baby's safety.

When it comes to children’s products, safety is very crucial. Parents trust that every item they use for their babies has been tested and approved to meet the highest safety standards. That’s why it’s alarming when a popular product is found to pose serious risks.

On June 26, 2025, Peg Perego announced a major recall of its Tatamia 3-in-1 recliners, swings, and high chairs after discovering that the product fails to meet multiple federal safety standards, including posing a suffocation hazard to infants (2).

This recall serves as a critical reminder of the importance of strict compliance with safety regulations in protecting our children. Children, especially infants, are vulnerable, and their safety depends entirely on the decisions adults make, whether it's choosing the right crib, stroller, or high chair. That’s why child safety standards exist: to ensure that every product designed for children is thoroughly tested, regulated, and proven safe.

Parents and caregivers should never have to second-guess the safety of a product made for babies. Every company has a responsibility to follow federal guidelines, regularly test their products, and act quickly when dangers are discovered.

Overview Of The Peg Perego High Chair Recall

Peg Perego issued a recall for approximately 950 units of its Tatamia 3-in-1 recliners, swings, and high chairs due to serious violations of federal safety regulations. The affected products were sold online through PegPerego.com, Amazon.com, Target.com, and other retail websites between November 2022 and January 2025, with a retail price of approximately $450.

The recalled product is a multi-functional unit that converts from a recliner to a high chair and an unpowered infant swing. It was sold in the “Ice” (gray) color with model number IMTATANA01BL73. The brand name “Peg Perego” is printed on the top of the padded leather seat and on the front of the high chair tray. The word “Tatamia” is printed on the adjustable side of the product (2).

Only units manufactured on or after June 23, 2022, and/or purchased on or after November 12, 2022, are included in this recall. The manufacture date, displayed in YYYY/MM/DD format, along with the model number, can be found on the base of the product.

These products pose a suffocation risk to infants because they were marketed for infant sleep and have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees. This design violates both the Infant Sleep Products Rule and the Safe Sleep for Babies Act (1)

Consumers are advised to discontinue use of the product immediately and contact Peg Perego to request a full refund. This recall highlights the importance of maintaining constant vigilance in child product safety, particularly with items intended for use during sleep and feeding.
