‘The View’ Host Alyssa Farah Griffin Announces She’s Expecting First Child

Alyssa Farah Griffin, co-host of ABC’s The View, is expecting her first child with husband Justin Griffin. The couple is having a baby boy, due in February 2026.

The announcement came during the October 8 episode’s Hot Topics segment. Griffin, 36, recalled a moment from September 2023 when Whoopi Goldberg asked if she was pregnant. At the time, Griffin, flustered and with her mother-in-law in the audience, quickly denied it.

This time, Griffin turned the tables. She rubbed her stomach and asked Goldberg, “So, Whoopi, do you want to ask me again?” The audience erupted in cheers, and co-hosts Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin ran over to hug her. “I’m so glad not to have to hide it anymore. I can breathe,” Griffin said, revealing the baby’s sex.

A Journey Through IVF

The couple, married in November 2021, tried to start a family for two years. Conceiving naturally proved difficult, so Griffin underwent five rounds of In vitro fertilization (IVF). She was also diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, making pregnancy harder.

“There were a couple of times I was an absolute monster!” Griffin joked about the IVF process. “It was an emotional roller coaster. You feel out of control with your own body, balancing hormones and dealing with the ups and downs.”

She praised her husband for staying supportive. “Justin was never hard on me. He was there for every appointment, every call. I couldn’t have done it without him.”

Justin Griffin, 37, also expressed admiration for his wife’s determination. “From the first round to the last, she was always like, ‘I’ve got this. Nothing can get in my way. I’m tough. I know how to do this.’” Both say they are grateful for the advances in science that made the pregnancy possible. “We consider this a miracle,” Alyssa added. “It’s such a wonderful feeling to finally get here.”

Excitement is already building as Alyssa recently felt her baby kick for the first time. “It was magical,” she said, grabbing Justin’s hand so he could feel it too. Justin added, “I’ve always wanted to be a father. Feeling the baby move makes it feel so real. Time is flying by.”

The couple reflected on their journey together and credited each other for keeping strong through the IVF process. Griffin said, “First and foremost, I have the best partner in the world. Justin is my best friend, and he’s been by my side every step of the way.”
