The model numbers for the recalled units are 17249 and 17310, with date codes ranging from 16919 to 11122. These numbers can be found under the body of the unit near the rear wheel.
The date code is structured so that the last two digits indicate the year, while the first three digits represent the day of the year. For example, the date code 16919 corresponds to June 18, 2019, and 11122 represents April 21, 2022.
The ride-on toys were recalled due to the risk of overheating caused by improper wiring, posing a fire hazard. The company has received 20 incident reports of the UTVs smoking or catching fire, resulting in five cases of minor burns.
Approximately 24,700 units of this product were affected. They were sold exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide and also online at www.walmart.com from August 2019 to December 2024, with a price range of $500 to $600.
